Proof positive that the guys at Sindelfingen are on their game! The Peter Fonda ad that ran during last night’s Super Bowl is further evidence that Mercedes-Benz is on a mission to dominate the premium auto segment. Over the last two years, the Company has introduced several attractive new models including the all new E Class. Mercedes also has aggressive plans to bring several all-electric vehicles to market over the next few years. Tesla beware! Sales are climbing and the German automaker is enjoying record auto sales.
Mercedes-Benz USA reported record sales in 2016 and extended its sales record into January 2017. In 2016 Mercedes outsold both BMW and Audi. In January, The Wall Street Journal reported the following:
“Daimler’s Mercedes-Benz leaped to first place in the U.S. and global luxury-auto sales race last year. It was the first time since 2004 that Mercedes outsold the BMW brand globally, the fruit of heavy recent investment, a revamped lineup and shakeup of its China business. Volkswagen’s Audi unit remained third on the podium. Still, buoyant demand in China helped all three of the German manufacturers to new sales records.”

Easy Rider was the 95 minutes that changed my world back in December 1969. I’ve been “easy riding” ever since.
Not so sure millennials will get it but the Mercedes Super Bowl ad I’m certain resonated with those of us from the baby boomer generation…”far out man”!
