1994 Mercedes E500 Restoration Phase V

Bumpers have been resprayed, paint has been compounded and polished, and rims have been reconditioned. Even headlight wiper blades have been replaced.

We are nearing the finish line with Project E500. Dean has completed a thorough exterior detailing which included a comprehensive fine silt sanding and polish. Laumbach Restorations has also detailed the engine bay, replaced the hood insulation, and replaced both front corner blinkers with original factory Mercedes-Benz parts (not easy to find given they are unique to the E500 which was a one-year-only USA model with only 364 imported!!). The original paintwork has really come back to life and looks like new. As a finishing touch, the paintless dent removal process is being performed on the E500 by Dean’s expert. Once the small dings are removed and the paint is corrected with final polishing the vehicle will be sealed with Optimum Gloss Coat.

The work completed thus far includes:

  • Total mechanical overhaul, including lube, tune up, brakes, wire harnesses, alignment, belts, shocks, hoses, and spark plugs.
  • Extensive undercarriage detailing, restoration, and polish
  • PDR (paintless dent removal)
  • Wheel refinishing and tire re-balancing
  • Hood pad replacement
  • Reconditioning of interior wood by Madera Concepts
  • New headliner
  • New factory walnut Mercedes-Benz Sportline steering wheel
  • New headlamp blinkers
  • Replacement of various rubber moldings, seals, grommets, and gaskets
  • Interior leather and upholstery repair, replacement, reconditioning and restoration
  • Extensive bodywork, surface rust removal, ding removal, and touch up
  • Comprehensive exterior detail, including wet sanding, compounding, polish and seal
  • Comprehensive interior detail, including carpet removal and steam clean
  • Radio reconditioning and power antenna replacement
  • Sorting and cleaning of the trunk, spare tire, and tools

Old and crumbling mirror plastic and rubber

The original mirror mounts were faded, worn, and brittle. They were dry rotted and crumbled when removed!

This seemingly insignificant detail really moves up the entire exterior of the car.

We replaced the rubber on both mirrors and this detail really moved up the whole look...

Passenger side mirror cap was also replaced.

Dean has completely cleaned and sorted out the trunk and is placing the spare tire, jack, and tools correctly as they would have been from the factory.

I have a 1994 Mercedes Benz E500 one of only 45 imported into Canada ,it has been in my family from day one it has under 250.000 kilometres , has been very well kept since its original purchase no accidents and all services have been as required. I am looking for the approx.value on this classic vehicle for insurance and estate purposes and possibly (not likely sale) could you help out. Thank for possibly considering with helping.
