2008 Mercedes-Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series: Well Sold

The auction hammer fell at $108,000 for this 2008 Mercedes-Benz CLK 63 Black Series

The CLK 63 is one special car. Its wide DTM-like bodywork, rear seat delete, and powerful naturally aspirated V8 make it one of the most memorable Benz’s of the modern era. They also only built 500 of them. This 2008 Mercedes-Benz CL63 AMG Black Series was purchased new in California and was corporate owned for several months before coming to the seller in June of that year with 1,200 miles. The car now shows 17k miles and is powered by a 6.2-liter V8 which sends drive rearward via a paddle-shifted seven-speed automatic transmission and a mechanical limited-slip differential. The car is finished in black over black leather and features H&R springs, floating rear rotors, stainless steel brake hoses, and black powder coated factory wheels with red accents. The seller has also added a carbon fiber Vorsteiner rear wing and carbon fiber interior trim. This CLK63 AMG Black Series is offered with removed factory springs, brake rotors, and brake hoses, records from the seller’s ownership, factory literature, a Valentine One, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title in the name of the seller’s trust.

Overall this is a good example that has too many non-stock additions for our taste. True, all the parts are there to bring it back to stock but the powder coated wheels and other black out additions would be a lot of work to sort out. Mileage is low for a CLK Black Series but at 17,000 its not an investment-grade car. Overall, we would call this example well sold.
