1995 BMW 850CSi: Well Bought if Held To Maturity

The auction hammer fell at $78,000 for this 1995 850CSi

The 850CSi is rapidly emerging as a must have car for the Youngtimer collector. Their rarity, power, and three pedal configuration make the CSi a rising modern classic. Read our recent review of the sale of an 850CSi that will be published in the next issue of Sports Car Market. This 1995 BMW 850CSi is #205 of 225 examples produced for the US market and is finished in Alpine White over a Lotus White interior. The car spent time in Puerto Rico and Florida before being brought to California by the seller in April 2019. Power is supplied by a 5.6-liter S70 V12 linked with a six-speed manual transmission and factory limited-slip differential. An engine-out service in July 2019 included partially resealing the V12, along with refreshing the cooling and ignition systems as outlined below. Now showing 86k miles, this E31 included its window sticker, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The miles are high at 86,000 and the history of being exported and imported form Puerto Rico does not help the outcome here, however, its still an 850CSi and the buyer is probably in the green here if the car is held to maturity.
